Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose

The primary role of the Workshop- General Assistant is to assist in the day-to-day Workshop operations within the Harvest Avenue Facility.

In addition to this, this role is expected to assist with preparation of equipment during maintenance/ refurbishment operations and asset/ system load-outs when required.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

• Prepare assets for maintenance i.e. Pressure wash and assisting with visual inspections
• Assist Workshop Technicians with the maintenance and testing of equipment, such as ROV Tooling and ROV Systems, when required
• Assist Paint Technician with the preparation and repair of asset coating
• Assist Welding/ Fabrication Technician with preparation of materials i.e. cutting and grinding
• Assist Yard Operative with loading/ unloading and moving of assets
• Liaise with workshop supervisor to ensure that all related tools and equipment have current certification and maintenance records are maintained
• Adopt and promote 6S and lean principals
• Ensure that all work is performed to conform to company operating and maintenance standards and in accordance with all current legislation
• Ensure that all tasks are performed using correct procedures,
• Ensure that JSEA and risk assessments are completed for each task
• Participate in daily toolbox talks for Workshop Group
• Participate in observation system and STOP audits on a regular basis
• Participate in safety training courses and initiatives
• Participate in QHSE initiatives such as continuous improvement implementation and monitoring
• Assist with any other duties as and when required

NON-ESSENTIAL

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.

Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.

Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities

Reporting Relationship

• Reports to Workshop Supervisor
• Will also take direction from Workshop Lead Technician

Qualifications

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• High School Education- STEM Focused standard grades
• Knowledge of HSE fundamentals- COSHH, (SDS and COSHH Assessments), RAs and JSEAs
• Demonstratable knowledge of MS Tools
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

DESIRED

• Experience in a Workshop / Industrial environment
• Overhead crane certification
• Forklift Truck certification
• Demonstratable awareness of 6S and lean principles

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be working indoors or outdoors during the day and occasionally at night. Climatic and environmental conditions at the job site may include indoor and outdoor climate with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment etc. This may include an offshore environment where vessel movements may have an effect.

The employee will be required to wear PPE at all times

Physical Activity/Requirements

The employee is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include hearing all ranges.

This position is considered Medium work.
