Our client, a well-established franchise-approved car dealership based in Leominster, is seeking an experienced and professional Workshop Controller to join their busy Service Department. • Basic salary of approximately £34,000 per annum, with performance-related bonuses reaching £40,000 on-target earnings

Duties:

• Managing day-to-day operations of the workshop team, including 8+ Vehicle Technicians and apprentices
• Ensuring efficient workflow distribution idolising team skills and capabilities
• Communicating with the Service Manager to implement the best workshop processes
• Overseeing customer vehicle progress, liaising with service reception to ensure customer satisfaction
• Monitoring workshop performance against KPIs and identifying areas for improvement
• Planning and scheduling work allocation, balancing workload and skills
• Identifying training and development needs within the team
• Maintaining workshop standards in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Ensuring adherence to brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators
• Supporting the team to deliver high-quality repair and service standards

Requirements for the Workshop Controller position:

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or in a similar managerial role within an automotive service environment preferred; training will be provided to suitable Workshop Controllers
• Proven track record in an automotive aftersales role such as Vehicle Technician or Service Advisor
• Strong organisational and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Results-oriented with problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Focus on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction
• IT literacy; experience with CDK/Kerridge systems advantageous
• Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points
• Reside within reasonable commuting distance of Leominster
