Our unique Edinburgh based client have newly created a Technical Product & Test Support Engineer position due to the growth of their business and products. You will be working alongside their Technical Support and Test Department colleagues to provide the following support.

• Assist with In-house test and characterisation of new and existing products following documented procedures and updating the documentation as necessary.
• Support Customer RMA Service activities.
• Manufacturing Support, including process documentation and first line support for external manufacturing sites.
• Sales Team support by supplying qualified samples for demonstration.
• Ensure that customer queries are addressed promptly with the intent to provide outstanding customer service and to product delivery.

This role will allow the right person to grow and develop their skills in a supportive environment.

The core responsibilities include:

• Providing technical product support, installation support, training, and guidance to customers, internal colleagues, and external manufacturing partners.
• Working closely with our customers and internal teams to provide detailed and meaningful analysis and response for product issues.
• Assisting with global logistics of shipping products to customers.
• Assisting with system level testing and characterisation of new and existing products.
• RMA support, process creation to troubleshoot and repair any returned systems.
• Assisting with the creation and updating of support documentation for new and existing projects and products.
• Manufacturing support to external manufacturing facility, with possible on-site presence.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Basic knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of basic networking concepts and protocols such as routing, DHCP, TCP/IP,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Customer service focused attitude.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High levels of energy, credibility, confidence, and the ability work with both commercial and technical employees.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Electronic manufacturing engineering experience.
• Hardware test experience.
• Knowledge and experience of optical or wireless communication technologies and applications.
