Job Title – Sub-Contractor Planning Manager Salary – £31,000 – £41,000 (plus bonus) Location – Yate, Bristol Contract Type – Fulltime, Permanent position Hours – Monday- Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm Hybrid – 4 days in the office We have a great opportunity for a Sub-Contractor Planning Manager to work in a leading manufacturing company in their planning team. Responsibilities of the Sub-Contractor Planning Manager will include: Utilize mid to long-term rough-cut planning-based methodologies, across large data sets, to reconcile total network capacity against unconstrained demand in order to optimize available resources and meet business objectives. Ensure MRP system integrity and alignment to mid and long-range strategies. Facilitate monthly cross functional review to evaluate how execution-based successes and failures will impact long term strategic plans, highlighting and escalating gaps that may exist to meeting business objectives in the demand plan. Collaborate with plant execution teams to continually reconcile executional expectations with mid to long range strategic plans. Decouple demand and supply to enable level loading, constraining of the demand plan, etc. Review production priorities and effectively communicate to the sub-contractors – ensure internal and external customers are satisfied. Optimize the cost of sub-contracting through capacity planning, take into account the cost of sub-contracting and planning activity. Support with production scheduling activities as required. Ensure sub-contractor planning is executed in line with requirements incl. correct sampling, material availability. Monitor sub-contractor quality for product and delivery, communicate expectations and ensure this is met by the sub-contractor. Determine and maintain tier level replenishment strategies and master data for supply network. Review and maintain planning-based master data in MRP and planning based tools. PIPO and NPD Process integration. Determine and maintain inventory strategies for buffering variability in demand in each sub-contractor supply plant. Participate in Phase-In / Phase-Out process to ensure proper inventory strategies are deployed and seamlessly transitioned to execution. Prepare appropriate information and lead monthly supply reviews with necessary stakeholders. Escalate decisions made or decisions needed to Executive SIOP Review. Communicate and consolidate planning risks and be able to quantify risk to the business. Work collaboratively with plant operations teams to understand expected executional success and adjust mid to long term strategic plan accordingly. Benchmarking with internal and external sites, understand and deploy best in class ways of working. Propose and drive continuous improvement projects that lead-to-lead time improvement, inventory reduction/conversion and productivity improvement. Experience of the Sub-Contractor Planning Manager Required: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business or Logistics related fields (previous working experience in a similar role or this field will be considered). Experience using SAP for production planning. Experience in rough-cut capacity planning. Experience in managing and analysing network inventory strategies. Production planning in a versatile manufacturing and distribution environment with a focus on low volume / high mix production and/or supply planning. Strong analytical skills with the demonstrated ability to translate complex data into high-level scenario plans plus proven success in leading cross-functional discussions and projects without direct supervision. Experience with long term planning-based tools and systems.
