Our client who designs, manufactures and distributes high quality solid fuel, gas and electric stoves and fireplaces to more than 30 countries is looking for a Service Engineer to cover the Southampton and Portsmouth area.
You will report directly to the Service Manager and will be responsible for the completion of warranty and service work for Gas, Electric and Solid Fuel heating appliances. The role will include diagnosing faults and repairing appliances in a timely and cost effective manner.
Alongside warranty work, the role will include carrying out the maintenance of appliances within dealer’s showrooms and completing chargeable annual servicing and repair work for their customers, with the aim to retain the customers servicing requirements for the next year.
The company has predominantly grown organically through designing and developing its own products which are at the mid to upper sector of the market. REQUIRED SKILLS:
Proven experience of working with heating appliances or servicing comparable equipment in the field.
Full driving licence.
The Service Engineers are required to have and maintain the following training certificates to carry out the work:
CCN1 (Domestic Core Gas Safety), HTR1 (Gas Fires & Wall Heaters), CONGLP1 (LPG Changeover)
CPA1 – Combustion Analysis
GAS SAFE requirements (OFTEC also an advantage)
The following qualifications whilst not essential, would be an advantage:
Part P Electrical Safety
Electrical safe isolation
HETAS Certification
Hetas H002 (Solid fuel regulations and Standards)
Hetas H003 (Dry Appliance Installer)
Hetas H004 (Wet Appliance installer)
Hetas H006 (Internal twin wall chimney system installer)
Suitable experience within the heating industry will also be taken into account for applicants without the essential qualifications.
SALARY, BENEFITS AND HOURS:
Up to £36,750.00 per annum plus overtime
Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm
4 weeks holiday, inclusive of bank holidays, which rises with length of service
