Are you an Automotive Interiors Engineer, with a background in Cost, looking to join a leading Research and Development Team for a major automotive manufacturer? Do you have a passion for future vehicle development?

If so, Expleo have an opportunity for you! One of the world’s largest automotive OEM’s is currently recruiting for an Interiors Engineer, to help them develop unique and innovative automotive products. Based in Bedfordshire, you will be working within a dedicated and enthusiastic team of Design and Development Engineers on a contract basis. You will have an understanding of design for customer, design for manufacture and idea generation, with a focus on cost competitiveness.

You will contribute to New Model Sourcing, including creating Request for Quotation (RFQ), reviewing supplier concepts for new model cost management, generating cost reduction ideas, benchmarking and development of cost reduction design changes with suppliers.

Contributing to New Model and Lifecycle Design Engineering development when required, you will have an understanding of injection moulded plastic and pressed metal assemblies, including global design and development at part / module level, supplier management, managing test validation and technical analysis of market concerns.

Background and Experience required for the Automotive Interiors Engineer position:

• Ideally degree educated in a relevant design / engineering qualification

• Previous automotive design and development experience

• Experience of cost breakdown analysis

• Knowledge of interior cabin parts / modules

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes

• CAD interrogation skills

• Proficient in Microsoft office skills

You will hold a valid driving licence and have the capability to travel globally.
