Evolve IT are delighted to bring to your attention a brand-new Senior C++ developer/engineer opportunity with one of our most technically impressive clients who solve real world problems with software, data and hardware. Our client develops cutting edge software used at the forefront of deep-sea exploration and maritime logistics.

Our client is diversifying their business oof over 40 years by branching into new sectors, working across: renewables, oil and gas, defence and infrastructure monitoring. This role will require occasional travel to the Edinburgh office on occasion; our client trust that the right candidate can succeed in this role on that basis.

Role Description

This role sits within a multi disciplined team of developers and engineers working closely with the wider team to develop and deploy a variety of software products for maritime, renewable and oil and gas clients.

About you

• Strong working knowledge of C++ working on (V11 onwards)
• Unix/Linux environment with Shell Scripting
• PostgreSQL (V10+) experience developing RDBMS
• Senior skill set: Leading meetings and projects, contributing ideas/solutions and helping the wider team achieve their goals.
• Agile environment
• Strong problem solver with analytical abilities, calm under pressure
• Fluent in technical and business language.
• Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering background or similar
