This is a fantastic opportunity to join our brand new team at a new school development in East Manchester as a Caretaker reporting to a Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the provision of a pro-active and re-active building maintenance service ensuring tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. School Caretaker Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Liaise with the EWFM Helpdesk ensuring that all EWFM and client reporting systems are implemented Act as EW Health and Safety Representative carrying out routine health and safety checks and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation Contribute as part of the client operational team to the development of the premises ethos and culture. Support the client core activities. Responsible for carrying out the following regular checks and activities:- Carry out statutory maintenance checks to plant and equipment Check site maintenance work orders and action as appropriate by first hand repair or by liaison with the EWFM Help desk for further remedial action. Check for internal and external building fabric damage and action as appropriate by first hand repair or by liaison with the EWFM Help desk for further remedial action. Ensure all public access areas including car parks are unobstructed and free from litter and major debris. Assist in providing a high quality planned and reactive portering service Assist in providing a reactive cleaning service when requested School Caretaker Requirements: It is essential that you had experience a similar role within a service environment being able to demonstrate your knowledge of FM operations. The ideal candidate will be organised, methodical and have excellent communication skills. It is understood you will have excellent customer service skills and be able to converse at all levels in a professional manner. The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Working Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday Friday 12.30pm 8.00pm – there will also be an opportunity for additional hours to cover holiday and sickness absence.
