Location: Dudley, West Midlands Contract: Full-time, permanent (39 hours per week) Salary: £26,000 per annum Days of work: Monday Friday, 8 am-4.30 pm (Flexible) Black Country Living Museum is looking for a Painter & Decorator to join our team of multi-skilled tradespeople. As a Painter & Decorator, you will assist the Site Conservation & Maintenance team in bringing our historic site to life using a mixture of modern and traditional methods and materials. We are an award-winning open-air museum. Throughout our 44-year history, our aim has always been clear: Inspiring your discovery of the Black Country. We ensure that the revolutionary story of the Black Country s industrial landscape the first ever of its kind in the UK is celebrated by generations. We are currently embarking upon our largest development ever, with a multi-million-pound investment bringing our story into the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s. What will you be doing? • Designing and implementing a structured and cyclical painting plan. • Researching appropriate products and techniques, remaining sympathetic to our historic setting. • Undertaking paintwork on our historic buildings using traditional methods and materials. • Maintaining accurate electronic records of the paint (type & color) and method used for each project or building. • Assisting and supporting the wider team with general site work and maintenance where appropriate. What are we looking for? • Experience in painting & decorating heritage buildings. • Respectful and confident people/communication skills. • Able to work well as part of a team. • Able to self-manage; take accountability and ownership of work. • Confident computer skills. • Flexible approach to work.
