A fantastic opportunity for an Electro Mechanical/Mechatronics Design Engineer to join an established & growing company located near the centre of Birmingham working on state-of-the-art process automation, robotics & test systems within the logistics, automotive, aerospace & manufacturing industries. Sorion is looking for a well-rounded engineer to work on a variety of equipment for Sorion assembly & test solutions. You will have design influence & the scope of the job will be varied covering widely different requirements. Key responsibilities The role will involve working through all phases of a project life cycle including: Supporting customer review meetings & generating proposal/specification documents Reviewing designs ensuring they are not over engineered for customer applications & producing accurate BOM’s for hand over to purchasing & manufacturing Producing technical drawings & schematics as required Good document control including engineering change control & drawing revision Creating documentation & performing risk analysis reviews to support UKCA/CE marking as appropriate Requirements Degree or HND in relevant discipline Transferable skills from time served engineers will also be taken into consideration Preferred skills/experience 3 years of experience with good understanding of bespoke machine building Knowledge & experience of vehicle electrical systems & schematics would be beneficial but not essential, with knowledge of electronics, PC/PLC Control Systems a bonus Experince in SolidWorks but other package history will be considered & training can be provided General workshop equipment understanding is appreciated Additional We are looking for dynamic self-starters who can work proactively & as part of a team A desire to understand how & why systems function is critical as well as the ability to overcome problems as they arise, as are the abilities to be sself-disciplined, motivated, quick thinking & technically astute The occasional need to work on client sites Full driving license & own car is beneficial
