FT Specialist
About Us
The Financial Times is one of the world’s leading news organisations with a group-wide global paying audience of over 2.4m. We have successfully transformed our business model in the face of massive sector disruption, and have earned a grade A reputation for doing so amongst the worldwide news and media community. It is part of Nikkei Inc., which provides a broad range of information, news and services for the global business community. We have offices in more than 35 cities, including London, New York, Hong Kong, Beijing, Manila, Sofia, San Francisco and Tokyo.
Established in late 2018, FT Strategies provides digital strategy consulting to content-rich organisations, using the experience of the FT’s transformation (and its industry credibility) as its base. We have worked with over 400 news and media organisations, notably through our partnership with the Google News Initiative.
We founded FT Strategies because we believe in the power of quality content and technology to create successful businesses – and that high quality journalism can be a high growth business. Our vision is to create a future where the creators of valued content can serve their customers directly through sustainable and profitable business models. Combining in-house expertise and innovative solutions, we are on a mission to help organisations thrive in new digital economies.
The first era of FT Strategies has been about developing routes to market, a consulting playbook, and building a world-class team of expert professionals. Through that work we have established a robust business with outstanding industry connections that delivers extremely healthy revenues and high-margin profits. Our client feedback is consistently at the highest possible level of praise, and we’re delivering accountable and sustainable change and growth for our clients.
We’re now seeking a managing director to take FT Strategies into its next phase of growth. The role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace
At the FT, we aim for employees across all regions to have a voice so that diverse perspectives are heard and valued. We believe that a supportive workplace is one where employees feel they can be themselves at work and have the flexibility they need to meet their personal needs. We’ll continue to remove barriers for all, and in particular barriers facing employees from underrepresented groups.
