Responsibilities Mission: Reporting to the Plant Director the Maintenance Manager (MM) is expected to manage the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance team. This will include the maintenance of production equipment, Installation & Commissioning support and process improvement projects. The primary KPI is to reduce plant breakdowns through the proactive implementation of PPM and plant improvement activities. Responsible for a team of maintenance engineers and technicians, the MM will lead this team to ensure that breakdown targets are achieved or bettered and that continuous improvement is the prime objective. It is expected that the MM will have a bias in electrical/process control education, skills and experience which will be employed within the site. They will also have the Facilities Co-ordinator reporting to them and will provide support and guidance as required. Key responsibilities: Support the Maintenance Engineers and technicians in meeting their daily breakdown targets and KPI s, identify which processes/machines give the greatest level of breakdowns and develop actions plans to improve the MTBF and MTTR and reduce TFT (Total Failure Time). Support the Manufacturing Engineering team in the installation and commissioning of new production lines, machines and equipment. In conjunction with the Plant Director and the Sustainability Lead for the site, develop a programme to meet our Sustainability targets. Introduce initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint through energy reduction and optimisation Support the CI leader in kaizens with resource to implement resultant actions and other improvement activities Support the activities of the Facilities Co-ordinator Skills and attributes: A minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering/maintenance based role within a multi-functional manufacturing facility Leadership experience of a engineering/maintenance based team – ideally focused on electronic, electromechanical and mechanical products. Ability to balance and prioritise the workload of themselves and their team to serve the needs of the various production teams as well as maintaining the facility to a high standard. Knowledgeable in the implementation and execution of TPM systems Good working knowledge of applicable H&S legislation Good level of IT literacy with the ability to develop Excel spreadsheets For internal SE candidates a working knowledge of the SPS (Schneider Performance System) would be an advantage Education Likely to have an Electrical Engineering degree level qualification or time served experience (or Mechanical with Electrical bias) Management of contractors and good level of qualifications in H&S practices 18th Edition Wiring Regulations would be an advantage At Schneider Electric, Diversity & Inclusion is at the heart of our organisation, it’s an integral part of our history, culture, and identity.
