Role Outline Farnborough International is looking to strengthen its world class team by recruiting a Logistics Porter to provide logistical support to the Event Management and Facilities teams, facilitating the needs of clients using the Farnborough International venues and site. This will involve being responsible for the movement and set-up of various items and furniture, ensuring that event spaces are set up on time in accordance with requirements issued. They will support a large number events ranging from meetings and conferences through to large exhibitions and the prestigious Airshow. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate that has excellent attention to detail, a hands-on approach and that is a team player. There is potential for progression within the role and to other positions within Farnborough International. Role Responsibilities Primary Organise, move and set-out furniture and set facilities in line with event requirements and standard operating procedures. Clear down facilities following event completion and ensure event space is ready for next event set up. Ensure speed of work and productivity is in line with event requirements. Deal with customer comments in a positive manner and take prompt and appropriate follow up action. Understanding & implementation of safety controls across the site including carrying out dynamic risk assessments when required. Report all maintenance issues and hazards to the Helpdesk via CAFM immediately as well as responding and carrying out tasks assigned from CAFM including PPMs for site assets. Support with tracking the condition of the venue buildings via a dilapidations process for each event. Identify and recommend best practice for own areas of work. Report punctually for duty with a clean and tidy appearance, dressed according to the company requirements and abide by all regulations in the Company Handbook. Secondary Assist with wider site requirements, such as the movement/set up of barriers and parking areas, plus regular site checks of all FIL assets. Proactively feedback and raise issues to Head of Facilities and Security for improvement/best practice. Ensure the needs of the wider business are considered in the planning of all works and tasks, giving priority to the customer journey and experience. Reporting Structure The role directly reports to the Logistics Supervisor on a daily basis. They will work closely with both the Facilities and Event management teams. Skills & Competencies A fluent and excellent communicator at all levels Confident and enthusiastic. Ability to work to tight deadlines.
