Landscape Technician Charge Hand
Brighton – covering sites across Sussex
£24,258 – £25,535 per year
40 hours per week

We have an opportunity for a Landscape Technician Charge Hand to join our team based in Brighton. The Grounds Maintenance team is responsible for completing ground maintenance tasks across various sites across Sussex. Daily tasks will include litter picking, shrub pruning, grass and hedge cutting, weed spraying and removal and dealing with fly tipping clearances. If you have experience in a gardening role, leading a team and using gardening equipment and machinery then this could be the role for you.
The role of Landscape Technician Charge Hand will include:
Providing supervisory support in keeping estates well maintained and clean
Using equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance
Carrying out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations
Skills and experiences:
Pesticide Application Certificate PA1 – PA6 (or equivalent) is desirable
NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline is desirable
Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is essential
Some experience of supervising others
This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
