Workshop Manager My client designs and manufactures bespoke furniture and fitted joinery for both high end residential and commercial markets. Workshop Manager We are looking for a confident, dynamic and experienced workshop manager with an excellent working knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes. This role encapsulates reporting on production, programme and status of all live job tickets, procurement of materials, implementing systems to improve efficiency and working environment, coordinating with logistics for deliveries to site and quality controlling output. The role will be focussed on effective management of the job life cycle, overseeing operatives and providing weekly progress reports to senior management. You will be overseeing all goods out ensuring that all the correct parts are present, wrapped and packed correctly and complete with delivery note paperwork. Safety is a priority within the workshop and you will be performing the usual daily visual checks for safety hazards and uphold safe working practices amongst the factory operatives. You will be liaising with the company s Health and Safety Officer who will be prescribing all actions necessary on this front. Main responsibilities Provide production programme information & implement to meet time lines and targets Implement & maintain workflow processes Monitor & report on non-conformances Take off & procurement of materials Recording goods in & filing of delivery notes Overseeing all manufacturing & ensuring quality standards are met Health & Safety checks & promoting safe working practices Training & coaching factory operatives, toolbox talks etc. Organizing maintenance of machinery & equipment; keeping maintenance records Safe & efficient storage of all materials & produced items Review proposed joinery designs & return comments on design, technical details & fabrication timings Liaise with spray workshop Installation and Delivery Ensure effective delivery processes are followed; parts lists, labelling and correct packing procedures Liaise with logistics and site managers for joinery call off Relevant Skills Longstanding record of workshop management Proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD Proficient with the use of Microsoft Excel Strong written skills Good working of knowledge of joinery design and fabrication processes Able to communicate effectively Knowledge of site surveying Able to work as a team
