Infrastructure Engineer (Hybrid) – Doncaster area – £34,000 to £40,000 + great benefits (Sponsorship)

I am working with one of the UK’s major retail brands, who operates in a fast-paced environment, providing support to over 5000 users across multiple warehouses and satellite locations. The successful candidate would be part of a team is responsible for managing various server and storage systems, including Windows Server, Citrix, Hyper-V, VMware, and more. We are currently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer who excels at problem-solving, prioritization, and collaboration.

About the Infrastructure Engineering role:

As part of a team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of server, infrastructure, and storage projects that align with the company’s business requirements. Your responsibilities will include working with both physical and virtualized server platforms, deploying services using scripted/automated processes, managing incidents, changes, problems, and requests, and maintaining comprehensive infrastructure records. You will also play a key role in upholding team standards, generating high-quality documentation, and facilitating knowledge sharing.

Responsibility of the Infrastructure Engineering role:

• Manage incident, change, problem, and request resolution.
• Utilize physical and virtualized server platforms, implement automated builds, handle disaster recovery, system upgrades, and maintain infrastructure records.
• Lead and participate in new business projects.
• Provide regular reports to management regarding major issues and resolutions.
• Support Microsoft OS, VMware, and Citrix platforms, documenting all solutions and enhancements.
• Collaborate with Technology teams to address customer issues.

Required experience of the Infrastructure Engineering role:

• Proficiency in Microsoft technologies for Servers and applications.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft failover clustering, Citrix XenApp, Microsoft Systems Centre, Active Directory, TCP/IP, VMware vSphere, and Hyper-V.
• Ability to lead small-medium platform solution projects.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
