Please note we offer now a £1000 signing up bonus broken down as £250 on joining, then £250 after 3 months and finally £500 after 6 months.

Shift: 4on 4off 06:00-18:00

We produce and deliver freshly baked bread and many other delicious items to our customers every day! An exciting opportunity has arisen in Walthamstow, London Borough of Waltham Forest for a Vehicle Maintenance Technician (HGV Technician) to carry out the safe and efficient inspection, service and repair of all vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment in line with the agreed schedules and operating procedures. This job is full time, including working during weekends and bank holidays, as rostered (4on 4off).

What will I be doing as a HGV Technician?

• Demonstrate the ‘Safety First’ approach at all times. Being proactive with hazard reporting, working with VMU workshop controller and FLM to target Zero Harm
• Demonstrate a flexible approach when moving between the various tasks within the VMU operation.
• Actively contribute to site standards and respective internal and external audits. Ensuring a clean as you go approach at all times.
• Work with VMU Management team to ensure fleet standards are met.
• Ensuring repairs are carried out to meet or exceed the minimum standards as laid down by VOSA.
• Carry out duties in a manner consistent with established safety, environmental and maintenance procedures.
• Work with VMU workshop controller / FLM and Logistics team to ensure vehicle availability in accordance with delivery schedules.
• To achieve shift KPI’s by working in an efficient and effective manner.
• To comply with laid down safety procedures, highlighting any non-compliance issues to the VMU Workshop controller / FLM.
• To ensure that vehicles other fleet assets are maintained in accordance with Company and VOSA standards.

Essential Skills for HGV Technician:

• City and Guilds LGV Qualifications or relevant equivalent in LGV Vehicle Crafts.
• Pursue personal development goals to be the best that you can be.
• Consistently display a ‘Can Do’ attitude.

Desirable:

• Previous experienced gained in a LGV fleet maintenance operations.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• LGV Licence C+E desirable but not essential.
