The role We’re looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our Logistics team! This is a hybrid role based in Shaw (Oldham) with travel to other sites (Head office in the Northern Quarter and Hadfield – Glossop.) Life Assurance Paid volunteer time – all our colleagues can take a full day paid to volunteer for a charity of their choice What will you do as a Health and Safety Advisor at N Brown? You’ll support and build on the accident and incident investigation process Completion of monthly auditing and managing corrective actions with the relevant departments You’ll support the department’s budget management and resolving any issues with payments to suppliers You’ll work closely with the legal team on EL Claims and collating all of the required investigation documentation You’ll create effective communications to the group on a wide range of health and safety topics You’ll support with the management and arranging of compliance inspections and assessments in relation to; Fire, Asbestos, Racking, Air Quality, Noise, etc. You’ll create actions plans for relevant teams following receipt of reports and following up on actions complete You’ll support the management of the Permit to Work process in line with the contractor management policy, and ensure the Approved Contractor Spreadsheet is kept up to date. Management of First Aiders, Safety Representatives and Fire Marshals You’ll review / create risk assessments based on changes or the introduction of new processes / equipment when required You’ll review all internal assessment forms and advising on suitable action plans; Health Workplace Assessments, New and Expectant Mothers, DSE, PEEP and Occupational Health Reports You’ll providing regular training on a wide range of internal processes and procedures to management teams; manual handling, accident investigation, drug test training, alcohol test training, inductions, permit to work, risk assessment, etc. You’ll review and manage evacuation processes across the group including supporting with evacuations and managing follow-up actions Reacting to emergency situations and providing effective solutions quickly and safely Partaking in team activities to build relationships across all departments within the group Providing solutions to complex issues within Logistics To undertake any other duties as requested by their Line Manager or as required by the business What skills and experience will you have? You’ll advise managers and leaders on day-to-day site safety matters You will have a UK drivers lisence You’ll lead and help manage group sites compliance Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines You’ll be confident, self-managing and able to work on own initiative You’ll have strong attention to detail with good communication skills – written and verbal You’ll have the ability to lead by and set a good example You’ll be passionate about the safety profession You’ll promote and encourage best practice Our promise to you: We’re an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
