The company

A renowned high precision machine tool manufacturer with a worldwide distribution network working closely with some of the world’s leading companies across a wide range of sectors. As part of their commitment to exceptional customer support, they are expanding their support team and seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to join the team.

The role

A Field Service Engineer is now required to join the team on a permanent basis to support customers across the UK and Ireland (with a focus in the Midlands).

You will take responsibility for:

• Responding to routine service and breakdown requests with a range of customers, on a variety of CNC Lathes and machine tools.
• Installation and commissioning of CNC Lathe machines at customer sites across the UK and Republic of Ireland with a focus around midlands areas
• Developing an understanding and product knowledge of the Linear robots and bar feeding systems to further enhance customer support.
• Evaluating technical engineering drawings for optimal manufacturing approaches.
• Setting cutting parameters for efficient material cutting.

What you need

It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:

• HNC Qualified or apprentice trained in engineering or similar field.
• Ideally over 6 years of work experience and excellent understanding of CNC machine tool maintenance
• knowledge and experience of using Fanuc Controls
• Ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure and thrive in a client-facing role

Other DESIRABLE skills include:

• Experience of working with multi-spindle and multi-turret lathes would be an advantage.
• Having familiarity with iHMI would be highly advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
• Knowledge of Gantry robots and bar feed loading systems is desirable

On offer is the chance to join a well-established European Machine Tool Manufacturer offering a great salary of £40,000 – £50,000 (DOE), a company vehicle, laptop, phone, hotel and travel expenses with the opportunity to progress on salary in the future. Working Mon-Fri, no weekend work required.
