Position: School Cleaner

As a School Cleaner, you will play a vital role in ensuring a clean, hygienic, and welcoming atmosphere for our students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and window cleaning, to maintain the cleanliness of classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other school areas.
• Empty trash cans and replace liners regularly, ensuring proper disposal of waste in accordance with school guidelines.
• Clean and sanitise restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures, to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in common areas, such as staff rooms, libraries, and cafeterias, by cleaning tables, chairs, and other surfaces.
• Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and organised.
• Monitor and restock janitorial supplies, such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaning chemicals, as needed.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate school personnel promptly.
• Follow established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing cleaning duties.
• Assist with the setup and cleanup of school events and activities as required.
• Collaborate with other cleaning staff members and school administrators to ensure effective coordination of cleaning tasks.
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, including the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently, managing time and tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects, as required.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Familiarity with safety and hygiene practices in a school or educational setting is an asset.
