WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR As Category Lead, you will work within the Procurement team focusing on the Indirect Category. Reporting to the Senior Indirect Procurement Manager, you will contribute to the performance of the Procurement team by utilising their highly developed expertise in activities related to Sourcing, Supplier Management, Cost Reduction and Continuous Improvement and Innovation. The person is required to drive procurement activities with the objective of maximising performance against Key Performance Indicators. An important aspect of this role is negotiating terms and conditions in contracts. Ensuring compliance to contract terms and agreeing changes or amendments. You will be responsible for understanding the business requirements, selecting and approving suitable suppliers and negotiating contracts leading to a formal agreement being put in place. This role will also require novation of existing contracts and seeking commercial solution as the business forms an independent entity. The initial term will include a focus on the transition of the indirect MRO inventory category with the move of catalogue spend from a Group portal to a localised solution and management control of the spend leakage. Position Duties and Responsibilities Lead negotiations with suppliers adhering to the businesses standard terms and internal targets. Draft and reviews Supplier agreements, NDA’s and security agreements based on the business processes. Ensure compliance to all RBSL polices, processes and procedures, supporting process improvement initiatives. Support the timely completion of contract closure related to Indirect Procurement Ensure identification and mitigation of commercial risk. Effective day to day management of contracts and communication to internal stakeholders. Advise internal stakeholders on the most commercially efficient solutions to deliver value for money to the business. Liaise with Export Control and Trade Compliance teams to support regulations. Ensure appropriate Intellectual Property is effectively protected. Report progress and issues to the Procurement Director; Deputise for Line manager in their absence. Attend at various management and stakeholder meetings and reporting. Where applicable, responsible for all training and development activities of the team as appropriate Carry out any additional duties, which the business feels in appropriate. Works as a member of the functional team to provide Procurement capability, development, and deployment of Commodity strategies whilst meeting the operational needs of RBSL and maximising performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators.WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE Highly developed knowledge of the Procurement role in delivering support to the business objectives. Highly motivated and self-disciplined, with the ability to work autonomously, under the minimum of supervision. Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, dealing with escalations and facilitating discussions with different stakeholder groups to address conflicting requirements and priorities Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond in a timely manner to line- manager requests. This role will provide you with exposure to both internal and external customers. You will help to continually improve a clearly defined framework, with a focus on utilising your experience and understanding of the Procurement environment Managing relationships with internal Key Stakeholders (Line Manager, Commodity Management, Internal customers and other functions & external Stakeholders (Supplier Base). Where applicable, the ability to manage direct reports including the setting and achieving of objectives, time management, personal development and administration tasks related. Prior Experience of significant contract negotiations related to Business Services, Logistics Providers and construction would be beneficial. Defence experience would be beneficial. CIPS Qualified or significant industry experience of contract negotiation and management.
