Apprentice Quality Control Chemist

To join the existing QC Team in providing the Quality Control service to the business,covering analysis of raw material, final products and environmental testing.Under the supervision of an Analytical Chemist, you will be:

• Performing analysis of raw materials, finished goods, waste streams, and returned materials.
• Entering data into SAP and other IT systems.
• Performing calibrations of analytical equipment.
• Issuing Certificates of Analysis.
• Maintaining the sample retention system.
• Maintaining appropriate records of analysis etc.
• Assisting with continuous improvement activities, root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Preparing and packing samples for customer evaluation.
• Maintaining good housekeeping within the lab.
• Liaising with production team, logistics team and sales team to ensure products are available for despatch to customers.

You will be required to work in accordance with H&S requirements on site. Workinghours are Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5pm, 37.5 hours, to include one day at Macclesfield College.

Qualification = HNC Applied Chemistry

Duration of Course = 2 years

Weekly Wage = Minimum wage dependent on age.

Qualifications Required = A level or equivalent Level 3 qualification in chemistry or science. Experience working in a laboratory environment.

Due to public transport limitations, please consider how you would travel to work on a daily basis, and Macclesfield College one day per week.
