Working for a supplier of automotive parts, this small, established and very successful business has created a new position of Assistant Warehouse Manager to support the Warehouse Manager in the day to day management of the warehouse, as well as being hands on in a range of associated duties, including Counterbalance and ideally, Reach forklift driving.

We envisage the successful person will have acted in either a Managerial or Team Leader capacity, to have the necessary experience and breadth of knowledge for the position, overseeing 10 warehouse staff, working in a non automated, and more functional, manual operation.

You will be responsible for ensuring H&S, warehouse organisation, efficiency, cleanliness, helping with receipt, storage, movement and despatch of goods and all required paperwork, as well as close liaison with the office functions, such as procurement, administration and sales.

This position requires strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills, diplomacy, the ability to liaise between departments, a solid understanding of warehousing and a calm approach.

Experience & Qualifications

• Forklift licence, either counterbalance or reach, preferably both
• Proven experience in a warehouse environment at senior level
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
