The role
We are seeking a qualified senior communications expert to join our team and be responsible for managing and delivering internal communications according to our strategy. Our ideal candidate is an experienced corporate communications manager who can demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills, and be detailed-orientated, performing well under pressure. You excel at quickly building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as advisor and guide, challenging constructively, and coming up with new ideas and approaches to ensure their content gets to the right people and has the impact needed to drive our business forward. You should feel comfortable with autonomy and with being in the driving seat of regular channels and large global engagement projects, liaising and leading colleagues across the world and recruiting their effective support for initiatives. Ultimately, you should be able to oversee a range of communications initiatives that helps build employee brand recognition and a strong culture that is guided by Ricardo’s values.
Key responsibilities
Lead, design and deliver internal communications activity, both directly and through working with others, to successfully meet Ricardo’s strategic objectives.
Develop business unit engagement and communication strategies and action plans, tailored to specific audiences, with robust feedback mechanisms in place.
Support various projects and programmes, from transformation initiatives to recognition schemes, by delivering clear and engaging internal communications campaigns.
Collaborate with Business Unit Executive President to draft emails and scripts, serving as their trusted ‘eyes and ears.’
Facilitate local town hall meetings and other internal communication events, handling logistics and content delivery.
Draft relevant communications and oversee their publication, including on our intranet.
Support the execution and communication of employee engagement surveys, working closely with HR Business Partners.
Collaborate with the Group Communications team to ensure alignment with company-wide initiatives and messaging.
Monitors and assess the effectiveness of campaigns through analytics and feedback.
Engage with our wider business to ensure an open and ongoing flow of information.
Key competencies and experience
Exemplary writing ability to get to the heart of a story and think receiver not transmitter.
Recognised communication qualification or membership of an appropriate professional body. (essential)
Organised and process driven.
Experience working in a global matrix organization.
Experience working in a change management environment.
Proven background in communications. (with experience in developing and executing internal and external communication plans)
Advanced knowledge of SharePoint.
Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
Excellent timeline and deadline management.
Able to deliver with minimal supervision.
Have excellent stakeholder engagement skills – this role will require you to develop relationships on a global level.
